Legal research you can search in milliseconds, and hear
In beta
A desktop research tool for U.S. law. Every word is indexed, so searches return in milliseconds however large the library grows, and every result can be heard as well as read.
The library
- The United States Code first, from the official published text.
- The Code of Federal Regulations next.
- Case law after that.
Titles are being added in stages during the beta.
Fast, precise search
- Results in milliseconds, tested on 100 million index entries.
- Combine words with AND, OR and NOT, or search an exact phrase.
- Optional word forms: a search for “rulings” can also find “ruling” and “ruled.”
- Suggestions as you type, and “did you mean” for misspelled words.
Follow the law where it leads
- Cross-references link sections to the sections they cite.
- Finds references written in plain words, such as “section 101 of title 35,” not just tagged links.
Analyse what you find
- Totals: how often a term appears.
- Distribution: where across the titles it appears.
- Density: which sections it is most concentrated in.
- Compare passages side by side.
Organise your research
- Notes and a scratchpad tied to the passages you are reading.
- A canvas to lay out sections and ideas.
- Curated collections of related sections.
Built for blind and low-vision users
- Every action can be done from the keyboard.
- Results are announced as counts first, then the result in focus is read aloud.
- Works with NVDA, VoiceOver and Orca, with high-contrast and large-text settings.
The accessibility layer is in development during the beta.
Runs on your computer
- Windows 10 and 11, Mac (Intel and Apple Silicon), and Linux.
- Buy only the libraries you need: each one is licensed separately.
